AI Scribes?
The South West Healthcare Centre of Digital Excellence (CoDE) is particularly useful when testing higher risk and/ or evolving products, such as ambient voice technology (AVT), including deep dives into the technical, social and interoperability aspects of the technologies, ensuring appropriate clinical safety and information governance considerations.
AI Scribes, or ambient voice technology (AVT), employs advanced speech-recognition and natural language processing technologies with the potential to transcribe conversations between clinicians and patients in real time. By automatically generating clinical notes, referral letters, and care plans, the AVT allows GP’s to focus more on patient care rather than paperwork.
The CoDE aims to test a range of AI Scribe technologies available for health and care practitioners with the aim of reducing cognitive burden on clinicians and improving administrate efficiency.
